View of Sugarloaf from the Ballyman Road, near Enniskerry in County Wicklow, Ireland
As we shift from summer to autumn my thoughts turn to new activities. Last Saturday I picked up the brochure for the Adult Education Courses in Kilternan just near the Kilternan Market. I saw that guitar lessons for beginners were going to be offered one evening a week. Ho ho, I thought, just the thing for me. For quite a while now I’ve been interested in learning to play the guitar and here is my chance. In roaming the 2nd hand book shops I have picked up several books on the subject but have yet to get serious about it – namely to buy a guitar and start to strum. My serious research started a few days ago with a drive to a music shop in Bray. I really love that drive on the back roads – I stopped the car to take a picture of the spectacular view of Sugarloaf – a familiar sight in County Wicklow. I also stumbled upon these accounts by various climbers of the popular mountain.
I also stopped in Enniskerry to take a few pictures on this sunny afternoon.

As to my visit to the music shop – it was fruitful but not to the point of actual purchase. I will look around a bit more. The lessons don’t start for a couple of weeks so I have time to ponder.
And as to the drive itself – here’s an earlier entry I made titled Knitting Memories – I wrote that on a Spring day a couple of years ago.
What gorgeous scenery. Autumn is my favorite season – one knows that the summer has been successfully endured, and wonderful winter is coming. It’s raining today. Hurrah!
