More About Gilman Bryant – My Great Great Grandfather November 1, 2015

Filed under: Genealogy,Genealogy Ancestors Family Tree — Janet @ 10:36 pm

Gilman Bryant was born in Peacham Vermont in 1784.  In 1807 he was in his early 20’s he moved from Peacham to Mount Vernon Ohio.  He was one of the first settlers in that area of Ohio.  Not long after he settled there along the banks of the Vernon River, he married Elizabeth Thrift, another early settler.  Her family came from Virginia and her father was an itinerant minister.  Elizabeth and Gilman married on March 2, 1809.  Gilman was 25 and Elizabeth was 17.

I just googled Gilman Bryant and discovered an apparent treasure trove of information about him – so I will laboriously write no more until I receive the book I just ordered from Amazon.com.  The wonders of the internet!
