The Family Tree

A steady increase in the number of ancestors identified for my family tree.  The total now is 4,159.  Each person has a story to uncover.  That’s a lot of research!

Now to read yet another book related to this research.  This time it’s a novel which I spotted in a charity shop in La Conner.  A novel about Benedict Arnold.

Armistice Day

Filed under: Armistice Day,Veterans Day — Janet @ 12:49 am

A special day for remembering the fallen in all wars.  I tend to remember especially the fallen of the First World War – the War that is especially remembered in the British Isles and Armistice Day is marked by particularly solemn ceremonies at the Cenotaph and the Albert Hall in London.  Red poppies are worn for several weeks.  As the years pass the survivors of each war dwindle in number.  We owe so much to all who served.
