Flowers and shadows
9:15 a.m. May 2, 2018 The sun’s rays are just reaching this corner of my garden in Seattle Washington
Last of the summer flowers – cosmos
It’s back to school time – that’s grandson Ethan on the left – in 3rd grade in a brand new school
son James and grandson Sean marching in to 2nd grade
reflecting on the new library
preschool lineup – in a hazy atmosphere (smoke and ash from nearby wildfires)
one of my favorite cats has reappeared
On my walk this overcast/rainy morning I noted:
Doorways in need of refurbishment
a good idea for supporting sweet peas
lovely salmon color blooms
the black and white cat of yesterday – staying inside this morning looking out at the raindrops
furry looking red foliage contrasting the blue blossoms
On my walk this morning I saw:
Reds on Mary Street, Ballard
another colorful garden with striking Red Hot Pokers
a rather quirky miniature garden
2 cats having an early morning visit cat-style? the black and white cat is obvious – the other cat is a long-haired fluffy orangey one in the doorway of the house
Back to my own kitchen
I love this time of year – so much color and changing by the day.
Daffodils blooming in the Skagit Valley

I’ve been trying to organize a trip to the Skagit Valley this past week. Each day it didn’t happen for one reason or another. Plans have now shifted to next week when the tulips should be in bloom. Such a gorgeous vista – I want to see it LIVE.
